Bath Time!
So today for our BLC excursion, we headed off to Stonehenge and Bath. Stonehenge is really just a pile of rocks. We spent about 45 minutes there, as you could walk in a circle around it. Ironically, this morning I had an internal debate with myself. Did I want to wear tennis shoes or black heels? Heels, I decided. It's not like we'd be walking in a field or something! And that's precisely what we did. My heels sunk into the ground like a German U-boat. Anyway, we took lots of pictures with the rocks. Those should be posted soon.
Then we headed to Bath. We didn't have much time there because we were meeting with the editor of the Bath Chronicle, their daily newspaper. We snaked our way through the hot spring/bath building in well under 20 minutes, then we grabbed lunch (and fudge) and set off to the Chronicle.
It was soooo nice there. They were so exited to meet us and took our picture straight away. Then Sam, the editor, and Carla, the sub-editor, led us to a powerpoint presentation in the conference room, where they had juice, cookies, muffins and "American" doughnuts waiting for us. Sam loved his job. At one point, he declared that being a journalist is the best job in the world. His enthusiasm was almost contagious. Carla was originally from Alabama but ended up in Bath after uni after a five-week study abroad program in England. This was twenty years ago. See?!?! It took much less than 4 months to get her hooked. I'm as good as gone hehe. She has a southern twang, proper British accent going on - it was cute. When we left, they gave us goody bags, which had a copy of the newspaper with a faux front page with our picture on it, entitled something along the lines of, "Welcome, Americans". We also got a fun Chronicle mousepad.
Diana, Nichole and Jon are at a theatre performance tonight - "Moon for the Misbegotten". Katie's sitting behind me in one of our Goodwill chairs, ploughing her way through "Oliver Twist". Hmmm, OLIVER Twist... ironic. I am in my pajamas, sleepy and ready to curl up in bed with Diana's copy of Elle magazine. Tomorrow is working all day, followed by a performance of the Lion King at night. Should be good fun! I hope Jamie, the RA, brings me by my ticket tonight!

Enjoy your time there. Appreciate all you see and do. When you get older you will be so glad you did.
